「潮流藝術」是一個對當時正主導藝術市場的抽象主義個反擊，並且隨著社會運動和當化變化，慢慢擴展。如今，藝術界已經完全認可，並把潮流藝術分為兩種藝術概念：潮流藝術和街頭藝術。

潮流藝術在1950年代中期至晚期在英國和美國興起，最初只是一場藝術運動。這場運動通過與我們日常息息相關的圖像，例如廣告、漫畫書和平日的會接觸的物件，加以應用並以新的藝術形式對美術傳統提出挑戰，當中產品標籤和徽標更是被應用最多，Andy Warhol的眾多畫作便是一個例子。

街頭藝術則是藝術品的另一種形式，可以在街道、火車和任一公眾場看到。這種藝術通常是游擊性地出現的。其目的主要是對藝術家所在的社會及環境作出個人陳述。這項藝術已經從單純的塗鴉和破壞行為的開始轉移到了新的模式。在這種模式下，藝術家開始表達的，是一些信息，或是其獨有之美感。

There are 2 types of art concepts fully recognized in the art world nowadays: Pop and street art.

Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the United Kingdom and the United States during the mid-to-late-1950s. The movement has brought an unprecedented challenge to traditions of fine art from popular and mass cultures, such as advertising, comic books, and mundane mass-produced objects. Product labeling and logos figure prominently and widely used as imagery chosen by pop artists, seen in the labels of Campbell's Soup Cans, by Andy Warhol.

Street art is a form of artwork that the viewers can see those imageries by the artists displayed in public on surrounding buildings, on streets, trains, and on other publicly viewed surfaces. Many solid examples come in the form of guerrilla art, which is one of the powerful means by the artists to out loud their personal statement about the society that they live within. The work has moved from the beginnings of graffiti and vandalism to new modes where artists work to bring messages, or just beauty, to an audience.

Banksy is one of the best street art creators nowadays. By his works, audiences can see all the prominent elements by street art.
